Tungsten Disulfide Powder
Tungsten disulfide is an inorganic compound with gray black appearance. The molecular formula is WS2. The molecular weight is 247.97. Tungsten disulfide has semiconductivity and diamagnetism.
The crystal structure of WS2 is a typical hexagonal layered structure. Each layer is composed of two hexagonal sulfur atoms sandwiched with a layer of metal tungsten atoms, and the sulfur atoms and tungsten atoms form a triangular cone. The sulfur atoms and tungsten atoms in each layer are connected by strong covalent bonds, and the layers are combined by relatively weak van der Waals force. This kind of connection makes the layers have strong sliding property, and sulfur atoms are easy to physically or chemically adsorb with most metals to form transfer film. Friction mostly occurs between lubricating film and transfer film. Therefore, although there is friction, wear does not necessarily occur, The damaged part of the film can be repaired by moving the lubricating film adhered to the lubricated material and the WS2 debris accumulated on both sides of the friction part.

Tungsten Disulfide Powder Application
