Niobium Carbide Powder
Niobium carbide is a kind of carbide with gray black appearance. The chemical formula is NbC. The melting point is 3500 ℃, and the density is 7.6g/cm ³( 25℃)。 Niobium carbide is insoluble in hot and cold hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid and nitric acid, but soluble in hot mixed solution of hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid.
Niobium Carbide Powder Application
Our niobium carbide powder has high purity, high natural packing density and narrow particle size distribution. It is suitable for the following occasions:
1. Used for multiphase ceramics. Niobium carbide powder has high hardness, high melting point, excellent chemical stability and conductivity, and is often used in wear-resistant parts, cutting tools and electrodes.
2. For cemented carbide. Niobium carbide powder can not only be used as an inhibitor of cemented carbide grain growth, but also form the third dispersed phase except WC and Co with other carbides, which can significantly improve the thermal hardness, thermal shock resistance, hot pressing resistance and oxidation resistance of cemented carbide.
3. It can be used as the preparation material of turbine rotor, gas rudder, blade, nozzle liner of engine and structure of nuclear reactor.
4. Used for surface coating of abrasive steel. As a metal carbide, niobium carbide powder has high hardness, heat resistance and wear resistance. Therefore, the surface wear resistance of abrasives can be improved by coating it on the steel surface.
5. Used for coating metal parts. The surface hardness can reach hv2800 or more by compounding NBC on the collective surface of metal workpieces. At the same time, the working temperature and structure density of workpieces are increased, so as to prolong their service life.
6. It is used as additive for carbide and cemented carbide. It can also be used as purple artificial gem. Niobium carbide is combined with tungsten carbide and tantalum carbide to make super hard alloy.
